£32,000 received from The National Lottery Community Fund

We received a donation of £32000 from The National Lottery Community Fund, Coronavirus Fund. 

This is fantastic news for us. It will support not only our gift packs but also our core running costs. Our charity has not been a position to fundraise due to the coronavirus. This is a massive boost in enabling us to continue to provide support to adults going through cancer treatment in hospital and the community.

138 care packs funded thanks to Tesco Community Grants - 6th May 2020

We are one of the first recipients of the Tesco's Covid-19 Community Grants to support organisations that are continuing to provide their services to people they support during the coronavirus. This will enable us to fund one of our popular care packs for men and women receiving cancer treatment in hospital.

£1500 donated by B & M to support our gift packs for adult cancer patients in hospital - 29th April 2020

We were the recipient of this money to support us in continuing our work to support cancer patients who are having treatment in hospital. A fantastic donation from the Wellingborough B & M Superstore.

The store kindly donated a trolley filled with items from our gift lists to enable us to continue to make gift packages for adult cancer patients in hospital and the community.

Happy 4th Birthday to Us - 7th April 2020

We celebrate 4 years since The Lewis Foundation became a charity. Growing from providing gifts to 1 ward at Northampton General Hospital to 7 hospitals in the Midlands has been an amazing achievement for us. Our charity continues to grow in terms of the number of volunteers, the gifts we provide and the number of people we support.

Gifts for patients in self-isolation during lockdown - 20th March 2020

Due to requests we are now providing our gift packs to people who are having treatment or have been classed as vulnerable and must remain at home.  Funding has kindly been given by the Northamptonshire Community Foundation to support us in providing these packages to people in the Northamptonshire community. We have also been recognised as House of Frasers "Community Heroes of The Lockdown" for providing support to people in the community.

Morrisons Produce has chosen us as their charity they wish to support in helping us to fundraise, donate gift items and staff volunteer their time to help support us in providing free gifts and support to adults having cancer treatment in hospital.

Alchemy VA supports us as their Charity of The Year - 22nd February 2020

The Alchemy Virtual Assistant Team are supporting the charity with various aspects to their social media activities. Raising awareness of the Foundation, it’s supporters and team of volunteers is the primary focus.

Chosen charity for the University of Northampton Changemaker Award 2020 - 7th February 2020

The Northampton University chose us as the charity the wish to support at their Changemaker award. A donation of 60 gifts were made to The Lewis Foundation as a result.

Specsavers are supporting us as their chosen charity for 2020 by fundraising for our gift packs and raising awareness of what we do within the community.

Neighbourly's Community Heroes - 7th May 2020

Neighbourly, which receives donations from supermarkets such as Aldi, Marks & Spencers and Lidl, were able to make a donation to our charity of £400 to support us in providing free gifts to adults having cancer treatment. We were featured as one of the "Community Heroes" for continuing to provide our services during the coronavirus.

Over 2500 gifts given since Lockdown by our charity - 5th May 2020

Since the coronavirus we have still been able to continue to deliver our services to adults having cancer treatment in hospital. We have been able to continue to provide our gifts at all the hospitals we support during the coronavirus. Our services has also extended to provided gifts to patients within the community.  This is thanks to community support and donations from organisations such as Northamptonshire Community Foundation.

Sharing the love with our NHS heroes - 31st March 2020

To thank our NHS heroes for what they are doing to look after the people we support, we have giving gifts to hospital staff to thank them for all they do. This is not just limited to the nurses but the reception staff, cleaners and doctors. It does not matter what role you do, you are all our heroes!

The Northampton branch of The Law Firm chose to support us their charity of their year for 2018/2019. They raised an incredible amount through various activity, in addition to hosting a collection drive for gift pack items.

Recipients of the British Citizen Award - 23rd January 2020

Lorraine and Lee Lewis received a British Citizen Award at the Houses of Parliament. This was for their services to Healthcare for founding and running The Lewis Foundation.
