So, it is now month 5 into my 1000 miles challenge to raise money to make a difference to adults with cancer in Northamptonshire.
No events this month, as the events begin in June 2017. It has been all about training and preparing for my upcoming events. The list which seems to be getting longer!
I have been mixing it up this month, even dragging Lee along (on the bike!) to in my training.
To prepare me for my runs in the summer, I have been running with my rucksack filled with 10kg of weight and even thrown in running with objects such as my log carry! I know it sounds crazy, but it is all ways to get me fitter for races physically and mentally.I have taken the opportunity to mix up my road running with some trail runs and getting out into the countryside. When you get out the town centre, it really is a beautiful place.
I have spent time trail running in Harlestone Firs, with the beautiful sight of the bluebells and getting out really early with Katie to explore places such as Hunsbury Hill Country Park.
This week, I went on a long run to Althorp House. I headed out at 8am and was amazing enjoying the peace and quiet whilst the sun rose. Even if it was a literally scary, with the road running which is something I will think twice about in the future.
It is the end of May and I ran 71 miles this month, which is my highest. It leaves me 700 miles to go. With 6 months left to do it and plenty of races booked it shouldn’t be a problem.
Next events: Pretty Muddy 5K on the 3rd June and Wolf Run on the 4th June.
