About the Event

Take part in our climb over the roof of the 02, enjoy incredible views over London whilst raising funds for World Cancer Day 2024.

We are asking YOU to take on this amazing challenge.

The money you raise from the challenge will help to fund the free gifts and support you give to adults as they go through cancer treatment in hospital and the community. Taking on this challenge means you will make a HUGE difference to adults as they go through cancer treatment.

Below are some frequently asked questions about what to expect.

Booking Terms and Conditions

  • Minimum age: 8 years old
  • Minimum height: 1.2m
  • Maximum weight: not weigh more than 21 stone/130kg/286lbs
  • Maximum measurements: maximum waist measurement 125cm, maximum upper thigh measurement 74cm
  • U18s For climbers aged 8 to 17, the ratio is 1:5 adults to minors
  • Up at The O2 is not suitable for pregnant customers

Am I Fit To Climb?

We’re sorry but you can’t climb if you are pregnant or have had an epileptic seizure in the last 12 months

Please let us know before making a booking if you have any of the following medical conditions relating to:

  • Cardiovascular
  • Respiratory
  • Mobility
  • Limb Differences
  • Current Injuries (e.g. fractures/sprains)

This list is not exhaustive. We will confirm with the 02 if it is suitable for you to take part.

Climb Day additional Terms and Conditions

  • Please arrive 15 minutes before your departure time slot to be confirmed in beginning of January 2024. Please keep that day free.
  • Climbs start promptly at the time you have booked: late arrivals will not be admitted, exchanged or refunded
  • Climbers must not be under the influence of alcohol or legal or illegal substances: You will not be permitted to participate.
  • Wear appropriate clothing for the weather. Visitors are required to wear their own suitable clothing. Climb jackets and gilets are available on request if needed as an extra layer. We recommend you wear gloves and hats during the Winter/ cold spells. You are able to take your mobile phone or compact camera up to the roof with you but it must be stored away in a button or zip pocket on your clothing. Long hair must be tied back.

You can wear your own shoes as long as they fulfil the following guidelines:

  1. 1) Velcro or laced fastening
  2. 2) Deep tread – walking shoes/boots are ideal.
  3. 3) The soles/tread must be clean and free of mud and obstructions so as to not damage the walkway
  4. 4) Fashion trainers with shallow treads are not suitable

The final decision as to suitability will be made by the team on the day. Climb shoes will be provided by us if your shoes are not appropriate or if you prefer to wear ours. You must wear socks.

  • Smartphone and/or Small compact cameras can be taken up in your pocket or pictures on the roof. All other items will be stored away and returned to you at the end of the climb. GoPros and larger cameras are not allowed.


  • Climbs will take place in all weather conditions other than gales, lightning, heavy snow or ice or extreme weather conditions which we reasonably believe will make it unsafe to climb. If we have to cancel a climb due to weather conditions we will rebook.
  • There is a risk that the weather will change during the course of the climb. You will not be able to leave the climb early in the event of a change in the weather unless we decide to cancel it on health and safety grounds.
  • In light of extreme hot weather, we’re encouraging all climbers to wear appropriate clothing (including a hat if required), apply sun cream, keep hydrated throughout the day and make sure to have eaten before your climb.
  • In the event of adverse weather conditions climbs may involve climbing back down Up at The O2 the same way you climb up.

Declaration & Waiver You will be required to complete in advance an online Declaration and Waiver on your behalf and on behalf of any under 18s you are supervising. This will be emailed directly to you.
